Schedule: Morning: Mixed Doubles (Advanced / Intermediate / Beginner) Afternoon: Men’s Doubles (Advanced / Intermediate / Beginner), Women’s Doubles (Advanced / Intermediate / Beginner) *If canceled due to rain, the event will be postponed to Saturday, December 20 (some categories may be reduced).

Venue: Royal SC Tennis Club (24 outdoor hard courts)1963-1 Kinozaki, Noda City, Chiba

Capacity: 384 players (first-come, first-served)

Registration Period: October 11 – November 22, 2025

*Entry fees are non-refundable after the period ends. *Registration will close once capacity is reached.

Official Ball / Paddles: • Official Tournament Ball: JOOLA HELEUS • Paddles: UPA/USPA–approved paddles

Entry Requirements: • You may not enter both Advanced and (Intermediate/Beginner) in the same discipline. • Multiple entries within the same level are allowed. (Example: ✔ Men’s Doubles Advanced + Mixed Advanced / ✖ Men’s Doubles Advanced + Men’s Doubles Intermediate)

Competition Format: • Round-robin league by blocks within each category • Top teams in each block advance to a placement tournament • Match format: One game to 11 points, change ends at 6 points• Officiating: Self-officiated

Awards: Champion / Runner-up / Third Place in each category 【Advanced】Cash prizes 【Intermediate / Beginner】JOOLA 3S paddle, caps, towels, and more

Eligibility: All players who can conduct matches with self-officiating

UTR JAPAN OPEN in CHIBA is a UTR-sanctioned event hosted by the Chiba Pickleball Association.

UTR (Universal Tennis Rating) is a globally adopted rating system developed in the United States. It quantifies player ability based on match results, allowing objective comparison with players in Japan and abroad.

This tournament offers categories for a wide range of levels—from beginners to advanced—aiming to promote player interaction across ages and skill levels while helping everyone raise their competitive level.

Results from this event will be reflected in the UTR system, which you can leverage for future tournament entries and competition opportunities overseas.

By registering as a member of PJF (Pickleball Japan Federation; annual fee: ¥2,500), you will gain broader access to domestic and international events—an advantage for anyone looking to continue competing, especially those with future overseas goals. This tournament awards PJF Points. In the 2025 season, the top four players in total tour points will receive from PJF a round-trip air ticket between Japan and Korea and the right to join a high-performance training session with Korean players.
