Rika Riordan, Vice President of the PJF, Elected as an Inaugural UWPF Board Member!

UWPF (United World Pickleball Federation)

In February 2025, the IPF (International Pickleball Federation) and the WPF (World Pickleball Federation) announced a historic merger. On August 30, 2025, at 8:00 PM Japan time, a vote was held among board members (directors) from 39 countries.

As a result, Rika Riordan, Vice President of the PJF (Pickleball Japan Federation), won the highest number of votes and was elected as one of the inaugural directors of the UWPF.

Moving forward, the UWPF will begin full-scale efforts to make pickleball an official Olympic sport. Under the UWPF, the AFP (Asia Pickleball Federation) completed its application for membership with the OCA (Olympic Council of Asia) this past May.

Rika Riordan commented that her goal is to promote pickleball and raise the level of players, and that she hopes to contribute as much as possible as a representative of Japan.
